Janet Johnson is a wife, mother, grandmother, pastor, educator, mentor, leader, and boss. These are a few of the names that have been given to me. But who am I? I am a servant of God, determined to make a difference in the world by investing in the welfare of future generations. I passionately live out that determination by leading and training others to be the best teachers and parents they can be. I have spent my life in this endeavor, leading and training teams of educators in both volunteer and small business settings, all with the goal of developing excellent educational opportunities for children and youth.
After receiving my Associate of Applied Sciences Degree in Early Childhood Education and Program Management, I went on to complete a double major in Christian School Education and Theological Studies for my Bachelor Degree. I am also an ordained Elder in the Church of the Nazarene, currently serving as an Associate Pastor and Director of the Child Development Center at Melwood Church of the Nazarene in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. I also serve on the local board of the Maryland Association for the Education of the Young Child, and I am a Professional Development Specialist for the National CDA Council. My somewhat unique combination of education and experience has enabled me to use my personal strengths and passions to mentor, train, and lead educators and strengthen families throughout our community.
